Rhonda Tietjen is a Partner with Ross Silverman LLP and has been practicing in the field of immigration and nationality law since 1999. Her practice is concentrated in business immigration, working closely with universities, hospitals, and companies in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and IT industries, among others. Ms. Tietjen and her team provide comprehensive employment-based immigration services, including nonimmigrant visas (H-1Bs, L-1s, TNs, etc.) and permanent residence through PERM labor certifications. Ms. Tietjen and her team also work extensively on nonimmigrant and immigrant work visas for researchers and scientists, including O-1, EB-1, and NIW petitions. In addition, her practice includes working with physicians on both immigrant and nonimmigrant issues, including advising and overseeing J waiver applications. Furthermore, Ms. Tietjen advises clients regarding worksite compliance issues, including preparing for and conducting I-9 audits.

Ms. Tietjen previously practiced immigration law at large corporate law firms in Boston and Washington, DC, where she counseled numerous individual and corporate clients regarding all aspects of employment-based immigration issues. Immediately prior to joining Ross Silverman, she spent more than three years as part of the in-house legal department at a biopharmaceutical company located in Cambridge, MA, where she was responsible for a full-service immigration practice, as well as working with issues of employment law, deemed export compliance, I-9 compliance, and various types of contract negotiation.

Ms. Tietjen is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Immigration, is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), and has served as the Massachusetts State Workforce Agency Liaison for the New England Chapter of AILA. Ross Silverman LLP (“RS”) is a full-service firm offering comprehensive representation for all types of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant visa matters, as well as family-based immigration services, naturalization services, and asylum and deportation defense. We also offer representation in I-9 and Worksite Compliance matters. Our client base is diverse, ranging from national and international corporations, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations to major hospitals, academic and research institutions, to individuals seeking family-based immigration benefits and those seeking asylum or refugee status or facing removal from the United States. Through a combination of personal attention and detail-oriented service, our attorneys offer foresight and creativity in advising clients on potential legal issues and in navigating the complexities of U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law.

In general, RS charges based on a flat-fee basis (with the exception of I-9 and Worksite Compliance matters, which are generally charged at an hourly rate). The benefit of such a system is that our clients know at the outset exactly what the legal fees will be for their cases, and this encourages clients to contact us with any and all questions or issues that arise during the course of the case, without worrying about being charged for asking questions. We have found that this system enables us to better represent our clients throughout the immigration process.

RS was founded on the principle that individuals deserve high quality immigration legal services delivered in an expeditious and cost-effective manner. The Firm continues to strive toward this goal and provides sound legal advice and offers innovative approaches to the most complicated legal challenges faced by our clients. Our ability to provide our clients with first rate expertise in all areas of immigration practice is grounded on our team-based approach to the practice of immigration law and our philosophy of providing comprehensive advice through foresight and strategic planning. All of the attorneys at RS are committed professionals who work collaboratively, sharing their respective opinions, expertise, and best practices. Supported by our staff of legal assistants, we are able to offer dedicated client support while drawing upon Firm-wide knowledge and experience.
